Agape Love?

Human ties and

bonds are fragile and

subject to unintentional and

intentional manipulations,

governed by fine printed stipulations,

influenced and swayed

by fleshly stimulations,

weighted and measured against

emotional fluctuations.

Jealousy and envy, inside hearts,

stomp about.

Pride and selfishness

leak in and leak out.

Forgiveness withheld and

granted with presumed and

assumed clout.

Relationships caught,

then thrown back,

like riverbank trout.

Agape love? I think not.

Highest Bidder

She has put herself on the auctioning block.

She sells off, not

just her body,

but small pieces of emotion,

for bits of devotion

from men with tarnished tokens

of love's similarity.

She has put herself on the auctioning block.

She sells off, not

just her time and energy,

but small bits of emotion,

for pieces of devotion

from men with tarnished tokens

of love's familiarity.

She has put herself on the auctioning block.

I Hear Love

I hear the loud whispers

of love.

The soft yelling of love,

I hear.

I resist the urge

to turn

in its direction,

even as I cock my ear.

Love's soft murmuring attempts

to caress my aching

heart.

Its healing voice attempts

to attend to my wounded

heart.

I hear love, yet I wait.

I hear love and yet I hesitate.

I hear love.

SHE

She wanted to believe so bad that

God really loved her just like His word

promised her He did. She longed

to wrap herself tightly with the

assurance of a perfect love

available and waiting for her.

Who knew acceptance of this amazing

revelation could be so difficult?

In the back of her mind words of

warning, "If it sounds too good

to be true, it usually is!" were

firmly planted. God's message of

love didn't seem to stand a chance

against the weeds of doubt

hoarding the gardens of her heart and soul.

She wanted to experience the

wonderfulness and power of His

love in her life. She wanted reprieve

from the sadness and madness of

her life. She wanted God's hope.

She wanted God.
