Dusan Colovic

Colovic is known for his anthologies of Serbian patriotic poetry. He is actively involved in the literary scene of Serbia. Critics emphasize his crystallized precision and haiku-like, epigrammatic, condensed expression. His play with language often makes it unfair to even attempt translation.

Horizons

Horizons speak

About wealth and poverty

Of our presence.

In Riddles

In riddles the world

Discovers

Longer and shorter sides

Of its existence.

Incorrect Time

Above their circle

The hands started

To over-run the time.

All I Have

I feel as if not in the world

All I have

I own less

In the light housed

I only

Protect the Gift Donor.

In the awakening light

Of the sculptured word

Dream the reflection of wisdom

While the celestial flows further

Returning deeply into me.

Somebody Sings

Here where you stand

The golden light shines

With God’s image

Meeting

The awareness of God

It comes to the people

Branding the spot

In the temple

Ardently

Somebody sings

Celebrating

The throne.
