I’m Here For You

“I’m here for you,” she whispered,
in a lonely hospital night.
Some foreign humor played
in the dark pools of her eyes.

Enveloped in her perfect fingers,
cool and smooth; marble,
my fever seemed to break.

A sleek smirk cut its way
across her porcelain face
like lightning.

“I’m here for you.”
Her ivory lips cooled me
as she wrapped me in lazy
folds of sleepy afterlife.
