D. Main (http://www.pw.org/content/michael_main)
is a 53-year-old career poet and Senior Technical
Writer, educated at Indiana University-Bloomington.
He is a past recipient of a 1993 Individual Artist
Fellowship from the Indiana Arts Commission. Main
has offered multi-media presentations of poetics
joined to religion and philosophy at his own Star
Thrower Publishing (www.star-thrower.com)
web studio since the mid-1990s. Main has most
recently been strongly influenced by Heller
Levinson's Hinge Theory, as articulated by Howling
Dog Press publisher Michael Annis. Michael's
numerous vitalizing contributions to this new form
in poetics have in 2009 been selected for
publication in JIVIN' LADYBUG (http://mysite.verizon.net/vze8911e/jivinladybug/id98.html)
and in OMEGA 7 (http://issuu.com/howlingdogpress/docs/omega7fromhivethismind).
He currently serves as an active Publicist /
Organizer for the OMEGA online journal. The two
poems published in this month's March 2010 issue of
THE TOWER are culled from a 20-piece collection of
romantic poetry focused upon the 'Unio Mystica'
titled "Myth Of The Twinflower". Main thus keeps
open a door to multiple-genre composition, with a
preference to not limit present or future
explorations to a single style or school of poetics.
